Go beyond the Laugavegur trek

The Laugavegur Trek (or Laugavegurinn) has been conceived by National Geographic as one of the best treks in the world, however the number of tourists who visit these dream landscapes each year has been increasing. Although it may not seem like it, the Highlands of Iceland hide even more places off the beaten path, such as the Langisjór area or the Eldgjá canyon. How would you like to complete the Laugavegur with several more stages that include forgotten places and off the beaten track? This is what we propose to you with our Hidden Trails trip, a trekking of more than 130km in 12 days, in which you will travel through Landmannalaugar, Langisjór, desert valleys, volcanic canyons until connecting with the last stages of the Laugavegur trekking and culminating in Thórsmörk ( the valley of the thunder god)

Hike Hornstrandir Natural Reserve

One of the last pristine paradises in Iceland. Hornstrandir Nature Reserve in the West Fjords of Iceland is totally cut off from civilization. No roads, no accommodations, only you and the wildest nature await you in this secluded place. Few tourists venture into these vertical lands to hear the arctic fox howl at night. Will you be one of them?

A superjeep trip through the Highlands

Yes, we insist. Landmannalaugar is spectacular, but there is more. A trip in Land Rover Defender can open doors and shorten distances between magical places like Langisjór and the Maelifell desert. Our Isolated Iceland trip offers the opportunity to explore, together with an expert and certified mountain guide, the lesser known places of the island of ice and fire. Black sand deserts, turquoise volcanoes, kilometer-long lakes and landscapes taken from a science fiction novel complete the routes that every traveler would like to discover. Would you dare?

Hiking around Kerlingarfjöll

The “Old Troll Woman’s Mountain”, this 1,477 m high mountain range in Iceland located in the Icelandic Highlands, is part of a large 100 km² system of thuya volcanoes comprising one of the most amazing landscapes in the country. Orange mountains, shades of green that collapse with the blue of the ice and the hanging glaciers. All this nestled in a mountainous valley where one of the old abandoned ski resorts resides that is, today, used as a mountain refuge. Do you want to discover this place?

Skiing in Tröllaskagi, the troll peninsula

If your thing is to enjoy virgin snow, endless descents and wintry landscapes that take your breath away … then you have to come skiing to the north of Iceland. The Tröllaskagi peninsula offers hundreds of routes for ski mountaineers. Don’t miss the opportunity to go down these incredible white hills and … without paying a ski pass! 🙂
