Winter

Embarking on a winter trip in Iceland is an adventure like no other, and there’s no better way to explore the country’s diverse landscape than with a combination of winter activities. You’ll start by heading to Kerlingarfjöll, a mountain range in the center Highlands that offers stunning views of the surrounding wildest region of Iceland and the perfect opportunity to go snowshoeing & experience a superjeep ride.

You’ll journey to the South Coast of Iceland to witness the awe-inspiring natural wonders of its waterfalls, the black sand beach and the iconic glacier lagoons. Finally, you’ll explore the magical ice caves, admiring the frozen formations that can only be found in this winter wonderland before heading back towards Reykjavík. An unforgettable adventure for any winter enthusiast.

FROM SNOWY MOUNTAINS
TO BLUE ICE CAVES

This 8 day trip will lead you through a deeper, more profound experience of the Icelandic winter wonderland. You’ll explore the majestic land of Kerlingarfjöll (the “Giantess Mountain“) that remained unexplored for centuries, and the alpine scenery of this region covered on white powdered snow. You will enjoy the hot natural pools after a long day of snowshoeing in the untamed wilderness.

If the weather allows, we will wander along the kingdom of the elusive Arctic Fox & we will have a full-day adventure towards the glacier’s icy depths, where towering ice walls and sparkling blue formations seem to glow in the dim light.

Luminous Shades of Arctic Skies

Embark on an unforgettable winter journey through the captivating landscapes of Iceland, as you become part of an adventurous group consisting of 7 to 12 fellow thrill-seekers. An unparalleled winter escapade in Iceland, where a medley of exhilarating activities will unveil the country’s remarkable and diverse landscapes.

If the conditions are good enough, the natural phenomenon of the Northern Lights will add a touch of magic to this journey. Prepare to be captivated as dancing ribbons of vibrant colors paint the night sky, casting an ethereal glow upon the snowy landscapes.

Iceland is an amazing place but very vast and it’s best to let the locals show you the really magical and secret spots. Amarok is the way to go and their skilled guides, Albert and Monica, made our experience memorable and comfortable. You’ll get a sweat going and you’ll be rewarded with draw-dropping views and surprises along the way. I’d wholeheartedly say not to miss the chance!

Amarok, with whom you can live an authentic full-fledged adventure… close people and always available for anything. Small groups, and away from those big organized and depersonalized trips.
100% recommended to live a different experience in Iceland.

In February 2020, a group of 7 friends we went on a winter trip to Iceland with this company and it was an absolute success. They showed us from the first day that they were truly local guides. During the trip, they demonstrated knowledge of the terrain & how to deal with any inconvenience that could arise due to inclement weather. In addition, the route and activities that we did on each location were unbeatable.

Nestled between glaciers, a captivating realm took shape through a succession of subglacial volcanic eruptions. This untamed land, now exists as a frontier nestled at the outermost reaches of the Icelandic highlands.

GO BEYOND
THE USUAL ADVENTURE

Escape the confines of conventional winter getaways and embark on an extraordinary expedition that takes you beyond the usual confines of exploration in Iceland. Prepare to delve into the secluded realm of Kerlingarfjöll, where nature’s icy embrace reveals a wonderland like no other.

Whether snowshoeing through pristine snowfields towards the rugged geothermal areas, conquering rugged terrains in a

powerful superjeep, or enjoying a bonfire during the cold winter nights, every step promises a sense of discovery and excitement.

After all of this, immerse yourself in the warm, mineral-rich waters and embrace the natural hot springs, while they wash away any trace of winter chill, as you revel in a blissful moment of tranquility.
