Antarctica

Where’s the Antarctica boat right now?

If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to sail to the end of the world—this is it.
Our expedition vessel Ocean Tramp will be out there soon, making her way through the icy channels of the Southern Ocean. And thanks to our Garmin inReach tracker, you don’t have to just imagine it—you can actually follow the journey in real time.

The Map Is Only Half the Story

When you open the map below, you’ll see our position right now. Zoom in and you’ll see the jagged edges of glaciers and the scatter of tiny islands that make navigation here so challenging. Zoom out and you’ll see how small we look against the scale of Antarctica itself.

To you, it might just look like a trail of dots. To us, each one is a memory.

  • The moment we set sail with the mountains of Tierra del Fuego fading behind us.
  • The first iceberg we spotted drifting silently in the Drake Passage.
  • The long night watches under a sky filled with southern stars.
  • And the mornings when the wind howled so hard we had to wait, anchored in a hidden bay, sipping coffee and wondering when the sea would let us move again.

Why sharing this?

Because expeditions aren’t meant to be kept secret.
They’re meant to be lived, tracked, and remembered. Whether you’ve joined us before, are signed up for a future trip, or are just daydreaming of Antarctica from home—this map is for you.
Every few hours a new point drops onto the chart, connecting the dots of an unfolding story: the crew, the boat, and the raw power of the southern seas.

Life Onboard

Ocean Tramp isn’t a cruise ship. She’s an expedition yacht, small enough to nose into fjords and anchor beneath walls of ice, sturdy enough to ride out the swells of the Drake. Life onboard is communal, raw, and honest.

Space is tight. You share meals, bunks, and stories with fellow adventurers.
There’s always a pot of something warm on the stove—tea, soup, or coffee—because the cold gets into your bones here.

Some days you hike ashore in snow and rock, other days you stay aboard, navigating through brash ice.
From the outside, the tracker shows us moving from one bay to the next. From the inside, those dots are entire days of effort, laughter, seasickness, or wonder.

Antarctica Has the Last Word

The thing about this place is: you don’t get to decide much. Antarctica makes the rules. The ice closes in, the katabatic winds descend from the mountains, and suddenly your carefully drawn plan is meaningless.
That’s why sharing this tracker feels so real. You’ll see us pause in places longer than expected, or change direction suddenly. That’s not indecision—that’s survival and respect. You don’t argue with the Southern Ocean.

Follow Along

So keep this page bookmarked. Check in every so often, and watch the Ocean Tramp carve her path across Antarctica. Every dot is a piece of our journey, and by following along, you’re part of it too.
And maybe one day, you’ll trade the map for the real thing—standing on the deck with cold air on your face, watching icebergs drift past, and realizing just how small and alive we are at the edge of the world.
