Amarok Adventures ehf will provide the traveler with instructions on how to proceed with the trip booking process. To confirm a booking, the following requirements must be met:

*If the client declines to sign the travel agreement, we interpret this as the traveler not accepting the general and specific terms and conditions of the trip. As a result, Amarok Adventures ehf will be entitled to cancel the reservation at the client’s own risk and expense.

For private, tailor-made tours & curated expeditions, the booking period is 2 weeks from the time the trip price has been approved by the client. If the deposit payment for the spots has not been received within that time period, the group will be automatically canceled and the price will be recalculated.

Tailor-made & curated expeditions tours for individual travellers or groups (not arranged by a 3rd party travel agency) have to be confirmed by the client at least 6 months prior to the start date of the trip.

Tailor-made tours & curated expeditions for tour agencies & travel professionals have to be confirmed by the client at least 5 months prior to the start date of the trip.

Amarok Adventures ehf reserves the right to keep the below fee to cover costs in our private, tailor-made tours & curated expeditions.
If clients formally cancel their participation:

If changes are requested for private, tailor-made tours & curated expeditions, such as adding nights or changing hotels or dates, a change fee may be charged. Please note that there is no fee for booking additional nights in the first city before or after a tour or package. If you provide us with enough notice, we will do our best to reschedule your booking for a future date free of charge.

A change fee may be charged if a confirmed service is changed less than two weeks prior to the client’s arrival.

A last-minute booking fee may apply to all bookings for private, tailor-made tours & curated expeditions requested within two weeks of the client’s arrival. However, this fee does not guarantee confirmation and you will only be charged for confirmed bookings.

In case the client needs to reschedule their private, tailor-made tour or curated expedition, the following payment policies will apply:

Whether you want a tough multi-day trek, a relaxed kayak route, or a mix of everything, we build the trip to fit your crew, schedule, and style. We’re here to turn your ideas into an unforgettable adventure—no compromises.

We bring specialized expedition gear where it counts—like glacier hiking equipment, mountain bikes, kayaks, safety tools, and group camping essentials. For personal gear (backpacks, hiking boots, sleeping bags), we recommend bringing what you know and trust, but we’re happy to advise on gear lists or help source what you need locally.

While you don’t need to be a professional athlete or seasoned explorer, a solid base of fitness and a willingness to embrace the wild are essential. Our trips often take you off the beaten path—through rugged trails, variable weather, and sometimes remote terrain where comfort zones get stretched. You should be comfortable with activities like hiking several hours a day, sometimes over uneven or challenging ground, or paddling for extended stretches if kayaking is involved.

Endurance, stamina, and a positive mindset make a huge difference. It’s about being ready to move your body and adapt to the unpredictable rhythm of nature, whether that means climbing steep slopes, crossing rocky riverbeds, or simply carrying your own gear for part of the journey. We always tailor the difficulty to match your group’s abilities, and our guides support you every step of the way.

Most importantly, come with curiosity and an open mind. The most rewarding expeditions happen when you lean into the challenge, embrace the unexpected, and connect with the landscape on its own terms. Packing for an expedition is about balance—bringing what you need to stay comfortable and safe without overloading yourself. We’ll provide a detailed gear list tailored to your specific trip and destination, but here are the essentials you can expect to need:

Clothing: Layering is key. Think moisture-wicking base layers, insulating mid-layers, and a waterproof, breathable shell. Don’t forget warm gloves, hats, and sturdy socks. Conditions can change fast, so be prepared for cold, wind, rain, or sun.

Footwear: Durable, broken-in hiking boots or trail shoes suited to the terrain. If you’re kayaking or horseback riding, bring footwear appropriate for those activities too.

Backpack: A comfortable pack sized for your daily hikes or a bigger backpack for longer trips.

Personal items: Water bottle or hydration system, sunscreen, sunglasses, headlamp or flashlight, toiletries, and any medications.

Optional gear: Trekking poles, camera, notebook, or anything else that helps you enjoy the trip your way.

For specialized expedition equipment—like glacier crampons, ropes, group camping gear, bikes or kayaks…we’ve got you covered. We recommend bringing your own personal gear when possible, but we’re happy to help you put together a list or source equipment locally if needed.

No access? No problem.
When the trail doesn’t reach far enough, we fly. Helicopters get you deep into untouched terrain—no roads, no crowds—just you, the mountains, and a certified guide leading the way.

Heli-Hiking
Heli-hiking is about using a helicopter to reach remote, otherwise inaccessible terrain—places with no trails, no signs, and no one else around. Once dropped off, the hike begins: high alpine ridges, glacier plateaus, or wild valleys where few have ever set foot. It’s not about luxury—it’s about access. The heli is just a tool to get deep into the wilderness fast, where your certified guide leads the way across rugged, raw terrain.

Heli-Snowshoeing
Heli-snowshoeing follows the same idea—except this time, it’s deep winter, and the terrain is buried under snow. With snowshoes strapped on, you’re dropped into the backcountry: frozen fjords, high plateaus, or icy mountain passes. It’s slow, silent travel through untouched snowfields, with the northern lights overhead and the world far below. Perfect for reaching places that would take days to get to—without sacrificing the solitude.

If you have any allergies or intolerances, it is vital to inform Amarok Adventures in advance during the trip booking process or, if not possible, before reaching the destination.

Travelers who require vegetarian, gluten-free, or vegan menus throughout the entirety of the trip must notify the agency. Amarok Adventures will make efforts to accommodate the dietary needs of the traveler. However, if it is not possible to fully meet the requirements, the agency will communicate the limitations accordingly. Open communication regarding dietary restrictions ensures a safe and enjoyable trip for all participants.
